2.0-liter, 16-valve DOHC, 143-horsepower 4-cylinder engine

With a 10.5:1 compression for efficient combustion, Electronic Throttle Control for ideal mixture and Variable Induction System to spread out the power, the SX4 pumps out an inspiring 143 hp and 135 lb.-ft. of peak torque. That's seven more lb.-ft. of torque than Honda Civic, and it comes at 12% lower engine RPM. This means you have good acceleration without having to “race” the engine as hard as with Civic and other small cars. It's power when you need it most: Passing on two-lane roads, climbing steep hills and getting out of the way of less considerate motorists.
